Herb Smith has been assisting clients with financial planning issues since 1963. He started his career as a financial consultant to business owners with CIGNA Financial Services. He was the manager of Estate and Pension Planning for the Saint Louis office of CM Alliance before co-founding Partners Financial Group, LLC, and Piatchek & Smith, LLC….firms specializing in the management of client wealth. Herb holds the professional designations of Certified Financial Planner ®, Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant, Certified Family Business Specialist, and Accredited Estate Planner.  He is a Registered Representative and an Investment Advisor Representative of Kestra Advisory Services, LLC After receiving his BS from Washington University he earned an MS in Management and MS in Financial Services from The American College.
 
 
Professional Involvement
 
Herb has been an instructor to other financial professionals in Advanced Estate Planning, Pension Planning and Employee Benefits. He has been a speaker to many professional organizations on financial and estate planning topics. He is a past president of the Saint Louis chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals.
 
 
Community Involvement
 
Herb served on the Board of Directors of Craft Alliance, a not-for-profit Craft Arts educational institution, for over 25 years. He has been an active adult leader in the Boy Scouts for 25 years. He is a member of the U.S. Army Special Forces Association and the Disabled American Veterans.
 
 
Areas of Specialization
 
Herb handles investment planning issues for clients making economic transitions into new phases of their lives. With the client’s other advisors, Herb deals with the economic legacy planning issues of transferring wealth and family values to children, grandchildren and community organizations.
